I live by the river on the outskirts of a small Essex town with my husband, two grown up sons, and our much loved poodle, Gem.

My time is split between working as an artist, and a self employed trauma therapist. I also love to cook, and find great balance in these 3 past times.

What I've learned along the way is that life is multi dimensional, and my art is a reflection of this.

Like most artists, I am constantly noticing. When I look at a view, I will look for longer and ask, 'what do I love?', 'what shapes can I see?', 'how many colours can I spot in the sea or the sky or the trees?', 'where is the contrast of opposites?'

I work fairly intuitively in layers, using paints, pastels, a variety of tools and often collage too.

I rarely start with a vision of a desired outcome, but rather go with how I feel at each stage and respond to what's unfolding until I'm happy with the end result.

Once complete, each piece is in the hands of the onlooker to decide whether it speaks to them and how.

We each have our own experience of art - much like life - and I love that.
